How did the idea for RepLika School of Speech and Communication come about?
- The idea actually came not from me, but from the school’s future clients from all those who needed it. For a very long time, people would approach me asking for help: to do this, to do that, to prepare something, to write a text. One person struggled with one thing, another with something else, and gradually the number of people seeking this kind of support grew so much that I realized it was time to turn it into a school.
How would you define articulate and confident speech?
- Articulate and confident speech can be defined in one word: influential.
Who usually comes to you, and what kind of challenges do they want to overcome when it comes to speech and voice?
- We work with people from a wide range of professions all those who present themselves on social media, participate in conferences, seminars, or meetings, or simply need to know how to communicate and present themselves effectively in their professional lives. And in today’s world, that is, essentially, almost everyone.
Public speaking can be challenging for many people. How do you help them overcome their fear and gain confidence on stage?
- There are both technical and psychological approaches. First and foremost, you need to master the technique: learn how to breathe correctly, train your speech apparatus, and make sure your tongue responds to your intentions. There are specific exercises for this.
The second part is psychological. First of all, you need to help a person believe that they can do it. And not simply that they can do it, but that they can do it exceptionally well.
What role does the voice play in a person’s professional and personal success?
- The voice, speech, and means of expression can have a decisive impact both on a person’s personal life and on their professional career.
Do people come to you more often to understand what to say, or how to say it?
- You know, in any case, you need to master both. You can have excellent content, but ruin it by being unable to present it properly or convey it effectively to your audience. And, conversely, you can be an excellent speaker, but your content may not be strong enough to make an impact or be remembered.
That is why we always work in both directions simultaneously: what to say and how to say it. It is extremely important to combine the two correctly, because one cannot work effectively without the other.
